Mearth History

The idea for Mearth began in 2015. An electric scooter prototype was made in March 2016, and by October of the same year, the MarkII had been completed. By February of 2017, a manufacturable e-scooter was complete. This was also the year the company was registered.

In January 2018, a second-gen Mearth e-scooter was launched. Within the same year, Mearth joined Incubate, an award-winning startup program at the University of Sydney. According to the program, Mearth had generated over $115,000 in revenue and shipped 210 units in less than three months.

In February 2019, Mearth launched their first Mearth X Series e-scooter and later that year, they introduced the Mearth X Pro.

In September 2020, Mearth released the entry-level S Series electric scooters which featured the Mearth S and S Pro electric scooters. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, Mearth donated dozens of Mearth X and Mearth X Pro electric scooters to NSW healthcare workers to help ease their commute. The e-scooters were distributed in hospitals like Macquarie University Hospital, Meditech Staffing, Mater Hospital Sydney, Royal North Shore and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

In December 2020, Mearth introduced their flagship off-road electric scooter line called the Mearth GTS Series, which featured the Mearth GTS and GTS MAX. In January 2021, Mearth released an upgraded Mearth X Pro. By March, Mearth had been recognised as a best-selling e-scooter brand by over 30 Australian stockists.

In July 2021, Mearth began the initial development of the ultimate long-range e-scooter that is now known as the Mearth RS, carrying two (2) models under it: the Mearth RS and RS Pro. It was later officially launched in September of the same year.

In December 2022, the Mearth S Series, RS Series and GTS Series were all given an upgrade and were all renamed to the Mearth S Series 2023, RS Series 2023 and GTS Series 2023.

Mearth's Growth and Market Position

Mearth's growth trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable, particularly in the context of the increasing demand for electric scooters. The company has expanded its product line to include various series, such as the Mearth S, RS, and GTS series, each designed for different riding experiences—from urban commuting to long-range travel. The introduction of models like the Mearth Cyber and the Mearth Platypus e-bike reflects Mearth's dedication to innovation and catering to a broader audience.

Mearth's success is also attributed to its proactive response during the COVID-19 pandemic, where it provided scooters to healthcare workers, showcasing its commitment to community welfare. This initiative not only enhanced Mearth's brand image but also highlighted the practical benefits of e-scooters in maintaining social distancing during challenging times.
